How I started
I started out as a tutor because I saw that students don’t enjoy Mathematics in the way that they should, due to the way it is taught. I wanted to provide newer, more insightful ways to keep students interested, so that they may achieve higher grades and better outcomes in life.
My story
It was during the summer of my GCSEs when I started to tutor. It began with friends who were struggling to pass. I helped them to understand tougher concepts that their teachers couldn’t adequately explain. Thankfully, all my friends passed, and this inspired me to keep helping. At school I started a maths club to help others develop interest for the subject. It was this maths club that helped many of my peers study for and thrive in their entrance exams for university. In my A levels, I achieved A*A*AA in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics, and French. Achieving 91% in Further Maths and 97% in Maths sounds like a big number to many people, but I am convinced that anyone can do it with the right approach.
My approach
My methods are proven ones. I have spent hours researching both modern and ancient methods to teaching the subject. Applying these, I ensure that the student pays attention and truly understands what is being taught. At the end of every term, I hold a meeting with parents to discuss their child’s progress, as well as what the child can do improve. My weekly homework’s are never stressful and are always helpful, giving the child insight on the uses of the fundamental methods required for success. The older the child, the more independence they have in their own learning, since to succeed in mathematics, you need to play with it, and learn about it logically rather than memorise the steps.
